2009 Conference: "From Ad-Hoc to Best Practices in Healthcare Interpreting"

In July 2009, more than 180 healthcare leaders, advocates, funders, regulators and interpreters met in Oakland, California to discuss "Best Practices" in the rapidly-evolving field of healthcare interpreting.
The conference was sponsored by Health Care Interpreter Network, Kaiser Permanente, California HealthCare Foundation, California Hospital Association, National Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems, and the California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems/California Health Care Safety Net Institute.
The next conference, co-sponsored by California Healthcare Interpreting Association, will take place in Orange County, California in March 18, 19 and 20, 2010.
